Welcome to RAD-AID International’s blog on international radiology development

RAD-AID International is a U.S. 501(c)3 nonprofit organization helping to bring safe, reliable, high-quality diagnostic and interventional radiology to the estimated 67% of the world population lacking these services.  RAD-AID develops sustainable solutions guided by the objective needs of health care facilities “on the ground”.  RAD-AID’s innovative Radiology Readiness™ approach is a 16-part analytical framework for understanding all the various clinical, technical, educational, financial, and other components needed to sustainably support radiology services in low-resource settings.

The entries in this blog  highlight some of the many ongoing projects in the RAD-AID pipeline.  Our blog has two types of posts:

1. The first type of blog post  describes various RAD-AID projects in different stages of development.  We encourage RAD-AID members  to post their experiences here and invite you to discuss these projects by posting your own comments.

2. The second type of blog post entry is for the RAD-AID Journal Club.  Unless otherwise noted, the publications cited in the these blog entries are available in our curated bibliography at “RAD-AID developing world radiology library”. Please feel free to look at the citations in the bibliography.  If you would like to suggest other citations, please complete the following form.  We also invite you to  contribute to the discussion by posting your comments and opinions on journal club entries as they appear.  Simply click on “comments” beneath the blog entry of interest.

For ease of viewing, you can click on the categories “Projects” or “Journal Club” in the menu at the top of this page to view only those blog posts relevant to those topics. To view all blog posts, click on the “Blog Entries” button in the top menu.
